Therapeutic massage promotes deep relaxation and helps to counteract physical, emotional and mental symptoms of stress. It can also reduce tiredness and tension in the muscles due to over-exertion. It reduces aches, pains and stiffness; relaxes and lengthens tight muscles, allowing the body to re-align itself.

Melanie WrightSports massage therapy uses specific massage techniques to promote efficient healing of injuries caused by sporting or other activities to the body’s soft tissue. It is generally used in the maintenance of fitness, both pre and post event. The therapist will choose massage techniques according to the tissue damage present not the cause.

Most sports injuries can be treated, particularly soft tissue injuries (sprains, strains etc), the techniques can also be used to help clients improve their performance or enhance their general well-being by helping the body maintain balance.
